Cincinnati Reds at Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

Cincinnati brings a 5-1 record into Friday night, and no team is having more fun than the Reds. The Reds were expected to be a playoff contender in the Central Division, and they look like the real deal.
Arizona has gone just 2-5 to begin the season, and this will likely be a long season in the West Division. The Diamondbacks just don’t have the talent to keep up with the Dodgers and Padres, but they should be competitive in most games.

Cincinnati Can Really Hit
The Reds lead the Major Leagues with 57 total runs scored this season, and they have done that in just six games. Cincinnati has scored at least five runs in every game and has scored at least nine runs in four contests.
There are a number of big bats in the lineup, but it has been Nick Castellanos that has really set the tone for this team. The outfielder has already belted four home runs, and he is the player that brings the positive energy every night for Cincinnati.
Tyler Mahle will make the start for Cincinnati on Friday night, and he was a winner in his first start of the season. The Reds pitching staff has given up too many runs to begin the season, but the offense just continues to bail them out.
Pitching a Problem For D-Backs
The Diamondbacks have not gotten good pitching this season, and that needs to change for this team. Arizona has a team ERA of close to 5.4, and it has gotten just one quality start from its rotation through the first seven games.
Second baseman Ketel Marte is hitting .462 on the season, and he has also driven in a team-high five runs. Arizona does have the potential to score some runs, but the lineup will have to make up for a lack of pitching.
This is the home opener for the Diamondbacks on Friday night, and this could give them an extra boost for this matchup.
Reds Roll Over Diamondbacks
The Cincinnati Reds head into Arizona with a ton of momentum, and they also bring a terrific offensive lineup with them. Chase Field is usually a great place to hit, and that will be a welcome sight for the Reds’ sluggers.
Arizona has not gotten any pitching to begin the season, and they aren’t going to be able to figure things out in this series. The Diamondbacks will simply have to try to score right with the Reds, but that’s easier said than done.
Cincinnati’s 5-1 record is no fluke as this team should be in contention all season long. The Diamondbacks might be able to sneak out a win in this series at some point, but it won’t happen on Friday night.
