Sunday Night Baseball will be in New York as the Yankees and Chicago White Sox meet up for Game 2 of a doubleheader. The Yankees won the series opener on Saturday, but the White Sox will have two chances for revenge on Sunday. 

The White Sox were one of the preseason betting favorites to win the World Series, but they have been a disappointment this season. Chicago comes into this game with a record of 19-20, and that’s good enough for second place in the AL Central.

The Yankees lead the American League with a record of 29-10, and nearly everything has gone right for them this season. New York has also won four of their last five games this week.

The New York Yankees are having a huge season on offense, and they also have a pitching staff shutting teams down. New York has belted 56 homers on the season, and the pitching staff has a team ERA of just 2.91.

Aaron Judge has belted 14 home runs to lead the team, and Giancarlo Stanton has chipped in with 11 long balls. Stanton also leads the way with 35 RBIs to go along with a .309 batting average. 

The Yankees will have Luis Severino on the mound on Sunday, and he is 3-0 with a 3.63 ERA. Severino doesn’t have to be perfect, as hit offense is going to score some runs.

White Sox Win on Sunday Night

It’s going to be a full day of baseball in New York, but the best matchup will take place in Game 2 of the doubleheader. The pitching matchup for that game should keep this from becoming a high-scoring affair, but both teams do have solid offenses. 

New York has been the better team in this season series, and they have also been the best team in the American League. This is a chance for the White Sox to make a statement on national television and also get back at a team that has made them mad.
