Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview
27 June 2021

Chicago won the series opener and has taken four of the first six games from Los Angeles this season. The Cubs enter Sunday with a record of 42-35, good enough for second place in the NL Central.
Los Angeles has improved its record to 46-31 with the two straight wins. The Dodgers are still 4.5 games out of first place in the NL West, but there is plenty of time to make up ground.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are -200 on the money line in this matchup with the Chicago Cubs.
Cubs Need to Score
After a great month of May at the plate, the Cubs have really struggled to score in the month of June. Chicago has scored just eight total runs in this series, and they need some of their top hitters to break out on Sunday.
Jason Heyward has provided plenty of offense for the Cubs this weekend, but he hasn’t got a ton of help. The Cubs are hitting just .225 on the season, which is good enough for 28th place out of 30 teams.
Young Adbert Alzolay will start for Chicago on Sunday night, and he looks to have a future in this lineup. Alzolay is 4-6 with a 4.19 ERA this season, and he will have to be sharp to deal with the Dodgers lineup.
Kershaw Going For Dodgers
Clayton Kershaw will be on the mound on Sunday night, and he is 8-7 with a 3.43 earned run average. Kershaw has been inconsistent at times this season, and the Cubs have had some success against him in the past.
Cody Bellinger was the hero for the Dodgers on Saturday night, blasting a walk-off home run to give Los Angeles the victory. Even though the Dodgers have won two straight, they were also no-hit in the series opener.
Justin Turner leads the team with a .288 batting average to go along with 40 RBIs. Los Angeles is still dealing with some injuries, but this lineup should be able to perform better.
Los Angeles Wins Third Straight
This series has been extremely competitive, and it took a 9th inning home run to win the game on Saturday. Look for much of the same in the series finale, even though the Dodgers have one of the best in baseball on the mound.
The Cubs just continue to find ways to surprise opponents, but that hasn’t worked so far in this series. Los Angeles is still looking to really take off in 2021, and winning a third straight game over the Cubs could be huge.
This is another game that is decided in the last at-bat by the home team. Bet the Los Angeles Dodgers -200 as they are able to pick up another close win over the Chicago Cubs.
