Charlotte Hornets at Sacramento Kings Betting Preview

05 November 2021

The NBA season is off and running, and the schedule of games is starting to get a little bit longer each night. On Friday night, it will be the Sacramento Kings hosting the Charlotte Hornets in a matchup of young and talented teams.

Charlotte comes into this game with an overall record of 5-4, and the Hornets could be a playoff team in the Eastern Conference. The Hornets have lost two straight games, and winning on the road is always tough for a young team.

Sacramento is trying to end the longest playoff drought in the NBA, and this year’s version of the team is off to a solid start. The Kings come into Friday night with a record of 4-4, and they have picked up a few nice wins along the way.

The Sacramento Kings are 1.5-point betting favorites over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.

Hornets Tough When Making Shots

The Charlotte Hornets can be a high-scoring team when they are shooting it well, but that’s not always the case. Charlotte is scoring nearly 115 points per game, and this team is shooting 40 percent from the three-point line.

Miles Bridges leads the team with 24 points per game, but LaMelo Ball has been the biggest star. Ball is averaging 19.4 points and 6.3 assists per game, and he looks like one of the most improved players in the league.

Charlotte doesn’t always play well on the defensive end of the floor, and they are going to be tested in this one. The Hornets have shown some flashes of greatness this season, but there are still some real issues.

Young Guns Leading Kings

The Sacramento Kings are still young by the league standards, but this is a team that is loaded with talent. Harrison Barnes is one of the veterans on the roster, and he leads the way with 23.3 points per game.

Point guard De’Aaron Fox is having a great season with Sacramento, and he will be a problem for the Hornets on Friday night. Fox is scoring close to 18 points per game while also dishing out 6.5 assists per game.

Defense and three-point shooting have sometimes been an issue for the Kings, and that is really all that is holding them back. The Kings have a terrific starting unit, but they could still use some more scoring from the reserves.

Kings Continue to Play Well

There shouldn’t be a ton of separation between these two teams, and it’s going to be a game that goes back and forth. Sacramento appears to have more shooting, and that should allow them to take control of this one at some point.

It’s been a rough few days for the Charlotte Hornets, and things won’t get any easier in Sacramento. The Kings have some momentum, and this would be another solid win to add to the resume.

Bet the Sacramento Kings -1.5 as they are able to pick up a second straight win by beating the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.
