Charles Schwab Challenge 2023 Betting Preview
24 May 2023

The Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, will be the center of the golf universe this weekend as some of the best players in the world will tee it up at the Charles Schwab Challenge. This is always an event that tends to draw some of the top golfers, especially those that want to continue their momentum from the PGA Championship.
Par is set at 70 for each round of the Charles Schwab Challenge, and Sam Burns is the current defending champion. There are some of the LIV Golf Tour members that will be missing this event due to a scheduling conflict, but there are still some great players remaining.
Here is a look at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and a Dunkel pick and prediction is provided as well.
Big Names at the Top
When you are looking to make a betting prediction on the outcome of the Charles Schwab Challenge, the first thing you want to look at are the betting favorites. The best golfers in the world don’t always win every golf tournament, but you have to start there before you are going to look elsewhere.
There are some terrific golfers set to tee it up this weekend, and here are the current betting favorites:
- Scottie Scheffler +450
- Jordan Spieth +1200
- Viktor Hovland +1400
- Tony Finau +1400
- Collin Morikawa +1600
- Sungjae Im +2000
It’s no surprise that Scheffler is the betting favorite this weekend at the Colonial Country Club, as he is typically the betting favorite every single weekend. Jordan Spieth is a golfer that has had success at this course, and Hovland has been playing some terrific golf of late.
Contenders Will Be in Play
Even though there are some great golfers set to tee it up this weekend, there are also going to be some other contenders that get into the mix. Michael Block is going to be a big story based on what he did at the PGA Championship, but he’s not going to be a serious contender.
Here are some of the other names that you should be looking at this weekend at the Charles Schwab Challenge:
- Sam Burns +2200
- Max Homa +2200
- Rickie Fowler +2800 +6
- Tommy Fleetwood +3000
- Justin Rose +3000
- Russell Henley +4000
- Cam Davis +4000
- Si Woo Kim +4500
- Chris Kirk +5000
- Min Woo Lee +5500
- Brian Harman +5500
Finau Gets it Done
Even though some of the best players for the PGA Championship will be playing in this event, there just won’t be the same focus for all of those golfers. You should expect to see Scheffler and Hovland in the mix once again, but they will also fail to get the job done.
Tony Finau is a popular pick to win any golf tournament that he enters, and everyone keeps waiting for him to win a major. While this isn’t a major golf tournament, this is still a tournament that the best names in golf tend to win.
The pick to make is to take Tony Finau at +1400 this weekend, as he will put together four great rounds to win the Charles Schwab Challenge.
