CFL Week 6 Betting Preview

After the abbreviated CFL week, we come back with a full slate of action with the usual four games. Two teams remain undefeated, and both divisions remain wide open!

Let's overview the CFL betting matchups for this week! 

Edmonton at Montreal

Time: 7:30 pm ET

Our week kicks off in La Belle Province. The struggling Edmonton Elks face off against the underperforming Montreal Alouettes.

The Elk needs to find a spark. In five games, the Elk have started two different QBs. They will be going with their THIRD player under center this year! 

The Elk defense has been heavily struggling as they have allowed a league-high of 189 points and over 400 yards allowed. 

Montreal has been disappointing as of late. As a result, the Als fired head coach Khari Jones and defensive coordinator Barron Miles. The coaching is up in the air for this game.

They have named Trevor Harris the starter for Thursday's contest, with Vernon Adams sitting behind him. Their offense is bound to be electric regardless of who is slinging the rock!

Prior to the bye week, the Alouettes' defense had been rather mediocre. Now with a new DC, things could be very different. 

The coaching is uncertain, so you should be wary of whether or not the Als will run away with this game. Montreal will end up winning but not covering. 

Calgary at Winnipeg

It is increasingly clear who the best team in the CFL is. The final two undefeated teams go toe to toe this week!

The Calgary Stampeders have been a very good all-around ball club. 
Bo Levi Mitchell's bounce-back year has allowed the Stamps to be in this position. With a sub 2% interception rate and 105.7 efficiency rating, he has consistently placed his offense with many weapons in an excellent position!

On the other side of the ball, there has been mediocre play. They do not allow massive amounts of yards, and they allow over 30 points in a game. They haven't had a close game since Week 2!

The best team in the league is the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and it's not close.

Even with a weak rushing attack, Zach Collaros is second in passing yards and second in passing touchdowns! The passing attack is truly the cornerstone of this offense!

They were able to shut down the roaring BC Lions last week defensively! They sacked them and forced a plethora of turnovers! The Bombers cannot be beaten, and it's looking like a threepeat in Manitoba!

Saskatchewan at Toronto

The classic Touchdown Atlantic game is being played, and the wonderful people of Nova Scotia are going to get quite the matchup! Both teams are coming off a bye week and should be well rested!

The Roughriders have been great contenders thus far, with one loss in the young season! The team seems like a well-oiled machine. 

The dynamic weapons around Cody Fajardo thus far have been a key contributor to this team's success! Kian Schaffer-Baker and Duke Williams have been excellent contributors plus key pieces to this puzzle! 

The Regina Sack Party '22 continues to rack up sacks and should find the backfield many times during this matchup!

The Argonauts' offense needs to score points! McLeod Bethel-Thompson has to find a nose for the endzone! He is bound to burst as there are countless stars in the six!

The defense has been playing solid and minimizing points. It wouldn't be shocking if they could nullify the Roughriders' offense! They will match up very nicely this week and could be the turning point of the season!

Ottawa at Hamilton

Our week concludes with the blunder bowl in Ontario. Two winless teams, each looking for their first win! 

Ottawa's regular starting QB, Jeremiah Masoli, is out for three months; they will likely turn to the newest Redblack, Nick Arbuckle. There is no telling what this offense can do, but it cannot be much worse than it was initially!

The Redblack defense allows over 350 yards yet minimize the allowed points! They truly embrace the "bend don't break" mentality!

The Grey Cup hangover has gotten the best of the Tiger-Cats. This club is at an all-time low!

The Dane Evans show has been short-lived as the ball is often in the other team's hands. His receivers certainly are not helping him, and the ground game has been abysmal, to say the least! 

The Tiger-Cats have looked poor defensively and allow teams to run all over them, allowing over 29.5 PPG! That is unreliable, and you simply cannot bet on this team.
