CFL Week 4 Betting Preview

With Week 4 underway, we are finally getting a better image of how the season outlook will be. Many teams continue to disappoint bettors, yet others have been a pleasant surprise! 

BC at Ottawa

Time: 7:30 pm ET

The BC Lions have taken the league by storm. There is perhaps no show more exciting than Rourkemania. Nathan Rourke and Lucky Whitehead have been unreal and show no signs of slowing down.

The roaring defense has allowed under 10 PPG. For any bettor, it would seem to be a lock to bet on the Lions spread. However, the opponents have not been the most difficult.

The Redblacks have been a defensive powerhouse. Even if they are 0-2, their record does not mention their two one possessions against the defending Grey Cup champions.

The Redblacks have some offensive fire of their own. It won't be long before Jeremiah Masoli and Jaelon Acklin start to shred this league. This team has the potential to be in yet another close match this week.

Edmonton at Hamilton

Even if it does look down for the Elk this week, there seems to be some hope in this Canada day throw down. This looks like the first week they pull off an upset.

Turnovers aside, Nick Arbuckle has been slinging the ball regardless of their poor start. There are plenty of weapons for him to use, and this is the week they can turn the tides.

Perhaps no team has been more disappointing than the Hamilton TIger-Cats thus far. Their ground game has been abysmal, and Dane Evans does not look on par.

Their defense looks a bit shaky. They will likely come out with a victory, but that margin will more likely than not be close.

Montreal at Saskatchewan

Montreal got the best of Saskatchewan last week. The Alouettes just about ran them out of La Belle Province. The offense and defense played the best all season. 

Trevor Harris has made the Als offense click even without two of their star players. The consistent dominance of Geno Lewis and the emergence of Reggie White Jr has truly allowed this offense to continue to dominate.

The defense hammered the Roughriders pretty bad, and the special teams unit had a phenomenal performance. The odds of that happening again are slim to none.

Cody Fajardo will rally his offense. Last week, Fajardo could not get the ball rolling, but this week will be different. He is a smart player who will make a huge difference this week.

The defense was non-existent last week. They had ten penalties for over 100 yards. The Sack Party seemed to disappear last week, but you better believe it'll be back hammering the Als backfield.

Winnipeg at Toronto

The Blue Bombers have not looked that impressive, even if they are the defending champs. Even if they are the current leader to win the Grey Cup, they have yet to pull away a large victory. 

The offense has been very slow, and Zach Collaros had yet another slow week. Recording no majors and one interception, there seems to be some miscue within this offense.

On the defensive side of the ball, they are clearly doing a great job of limiting points. You cannot ask much for a team with under 18 PPG.
The Toronto Argonauts have also been disappointing to start this year. 

They have all the firepower in the world, yet, they cannot find success. This low-scoring affair could get a chance for this offense to truly shine.

Their situation is similar to Winnipeg's, whereas the offense is not giving the defense any favors. In this low-scoring affair, it will be a matter of turnovers, and the Argos will bring that to the table. The Argonauts could shock the CFL landscape.
