CFL Week 2 Betting Preview

The first week of the CFL has concluded, and it was an excellent week.

Many teams outperformed their expectations, and others were underwhelming. Nonetheless, Week 2 should continue to surprise us with more amazing matchups.

Montreal at Toronto

Time: 7:30 pm ET

Montreal had a very poor performance in the first week. Vernon Adams Jr. had three interceptions, and to make things worse, they lost All-CFL RB William Stanback. Their defense played abysmally against a team that is nowhere near the caliber of Toronto! 

The new and improved Argonauts take the field this week for the first time this season. With newcomers such as Andrew Harris and Brandon Banks added to the roster, this Argos team is bound to be dangerous. This team is expected to take the league by storm with their first win today.

Winnipeg at Ottawa

Many people were shocked when the defending champs barely scraped out a win. This week they get a shot at redemption.

Even though MOP Zach Collaros was shaken up, he is expected to be back. This defense is still very dangerous and should continue their quest of dominance with back-to-back wins against Ottawa.

The RedBlacks had a great game against the Blue Bombers. Their defense held Collaros under 200 yards and to only one major! Masoli had an outstanding performance and was able to find multiple connections with other receivers. But Winnipeg will not struggle for two weeks in a row.

Calgary at Hamilton

The Stampeders had a phenomenal game last week. Their defense forced two interceptions last week. Former NFL RB Ka’Deem Carey had an excellent performance with 90 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.

With Bo Levi Mitchell currently questionable, he will be a huge factor this week. Backup QB Jake Maier played last season and is placed in a role to succeed.

The Tiger-Cats did not get the start they were hoping for last week. Dane Evans threw two interceptions, and it seemed none of this offense was clicking.

No player elapsed over 100 scrimmage yards on offense. The defense seemed all out of sorts last week and could not catch a break. Calgary is bound to stop all over this team.

Saskatchewan at Edmonton

Cody Fajardo is simply the best there is in Canadian football. He is a massive difference-maker, and he will run wild against this poor Elk team. Fajardo played an excellent game against Hamilton by throwing over 300 yards!

Their defense also hunkered down and held the back-to-back East division champ to a low thirteen points. This is a team that could turn many heads this year.

Edmonton continues to struggle to no surprise. Nick Arbuckle threw three interceptions last week against BC.

He was able to find CFL All-Star Kenny Lawler on six targets, but he was held under 100 yards and no scores. Their defense practically did not make an effort giving up 59 points and had zero sacks! The Elk are in for a rough week.
