CFL Week 17 Betting Preview
29 September 2022

One month remains until the quest for the Grey Cup takes to the postseason. Week 17 features four matches, two Friday and two Saturday, with major playoff implications! Let’s see how this week pans out.
Saskatchewan at Winnipeg
Time: 8:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Saskatchewan 111.902; Winnipeg 112.892
Dunkel Line & Total: Winnipeg by 1; 65
Vegas Line & Total: Winnipeg by 8; 47 ½
Dunkel Pick: Saskatchewan (+8); Over
The sole divisional matchup this week is in title town Manitoba! Cody Fajardo and the Saskatchewan Roughriders head to throw down against Zach Collaros and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers!
This is a very ambitious spread. Even if the Bombers are better ATS and have a better roster than the riders, Winnipeg has struggled to cover large spreads over the season. They have won by 8+ points only four times this year, so it will be difficult for them to cover the 8-point spread as they will cover outright.
Ottawa at BC
Time: 10:30 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Ottawa 108.542; BC 111.376
Dunkel Line & Total: BC by 3; 51
Vegas Line & Total: BC by 8 ½; 46 ½
Dunkel Pick: Ottawa (+8 ½); Over
The capital city meets the west to finish off the Friday doubleheader. Nick Arbuckle and the Ottawa Redblacks head to the best coast to play against Vernon Adams Jr and the BC Lions!
BC struggled immensely in their loss last week. With such an ambitious spread, this could easily be a trap game for bettors as the Redblacks have come to surprise many this year. The Redblacks are looking to hold on for the playoffs.
Montreal at Edmonton
Time: 4:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Montreal 114.158; Edmonton 103.683
Dunkel Line & Total: Montreal by 10 ½; 46
Vegas Line & Total: Montreal by 4; 54
Dunkel Pick: Montreal (-4); Under
Both clubs have had roller-coaster seasons thus far, but they look to get hot at the right time! Trevor Harris and the Montréal Alouettes head to Alberta to face Taylor Cornelius and the Edmonton Elks.
The Alouettes are just simply a better team. As of late, they have fixed a lot of their issues and have been red hot against opponents. The offense and defense have been playing at a high level, so they should win and cover the spread.
Toronto at Calgary
Time: 7:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Toronto 114.536; Calgary 123.891
Dunkel Line & Total: Calgary by 9 ½; 49
Vegas Line & Total: Calgary by 5 ½; 52 ½
Dunkel Pick: Calgary (-5 ½); Under
There is no better way to conclude a Saturday than with a very important football game. The playoff tensions are rising for both clubs! McLeod Bethel-Thompson and the Toronto Argonauts head west to face off against Jake Maier and the Calgary Stampeders in the prime-time window!
The Stampeders have been on a rampage lately with nobody in their way. Even with some recent great play from Toronto, Calgary continues to find ways to win in the dying moments of the match. They should easily pull this one out against a weak East Division team!
