CFL Week 14 Betting Preview
08 September 2022

Both college and professional football have seemed to sprung up at this time of year. While those two seasons are getting started, Canadian football has been on a roll! After a fantastic Labor Day classic weekend, the Saturday tripleheader should complement that nicely.
We are seven weeks away from the postseason, so every game counts from this point onward! Check out the week 14 CFL betting preview.
BC at Montreal
Time: 7:30 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: BC 117.236; Montreal 106.702

Vegas Line & Total: BC by 3; 53 ½
Dunkel Pick: BC (-3); Under
Friday night kicks off with a highly anticipated revenge game. The only East vs. West game that is on tap for this week. Both clubs are hanging onto the second spot in their respective divisions as the teams behind them are heating up as well.
Week 14 kicks off with Vernon Adams Jr. and the BC Lions (8-2) seeking revenge in La Belle Province against Trevor Harris and the Montréal Alouettes (4-7).
This will be Vernon Adams's first game against the Als since he got traded two weeks ago. Big Play VA will have a multitude of weapons around him to strike the poor Alouettes defense.
The Lions' defense and the Alouettes' offense will be an interesting matchup seeing as both play inconsistently. The Lions happen to match up very well against the Als and will result in a win!
Toronto at Ottawa
Time: 2:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Toronto 116.876; Ottawa 110.203
Dunkel Line & Total: Toronto by 6 ½; 44
Vegas Line & Total: Toronto by 1; 47 ½
Dunkel Pick: Toronto (-1); Under
The less anticipated battle of Ontario. The two hottest, not necessarily the best, teams in the East are looking for a fresh spark in their rivalry.
The East has not been very consistent, and it is truly anyone's division, as there is no telling how good this division will end up being. McLeod Bethel-Thompson and the Toronto Argonauts (6-5) head to the capital city to face off against Nick Arbuckle and the Ottawa Redblacks (3-8).
The Redblacks have won two straight and are miraculously a game behind second place in the east. For a team with a horrid start to the year, they sure have cleaned up their act. However, it is unlikely the take down the division leader.
With the consistent good play from the Argos defense and the stellar play from McLeod Bethel-Thompson, it will be very hard for Ottawa to stop, which will result in a loss for the Redblacks.
Saskatchewan at Winnipeg
Time: 5:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Saskatchewan 114.321; Winnipeg 117.676
Dunkel Line & Total: Winnipeg by 3 ½; 47
Vegas Line & Total: Winnipeg by 6 ½; 44 ½
Dunkel Pick: Saskatchewan (+6 ½); Over
In case you didn't get enough last of these clubs last week, they are back with another battle of the prairies. The best of the west threw down at dusk for the second game of the Saturday triple header.
Even though one of these clubs have already punched their ticket to the postseason, there is still plenty to play for. Cody Fajardo and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-6) head to Manitoba to play against Zach Collaros and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (11-1).
The Blue Bombers have struggled with blowing out teams. While their offense and defense are both spectacular, they are 5-5 ATS when favored. That is rather inconsistent. The Roughriders are a respectable ball club but have done a mediocre job ATS.
The Roughriders are 2-2 ATS when they are the underdog. The fact of the matter is that Winnipeg struggles with lines at are over three points, so Saskatchewan is logical!
Calgary at Edmonton
Time: 8:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Calgary 112.962; Edmonton 108.651
Dunkel Line & Total: Calgary by 4 ½; 54
Vegas Line & Total: Calgary by 8 ½; 50 ½
Dunkel Pick: Edmonton (+8 ½); Over
What better way to conclude a Saturday tripleheader than with one of the greatest rivalries in all of the Canadian sports. Even if this is a rematch from last week, it is likely to be the final time the Canadian football iteration of the battle of Alberta is played this year!
Jake Maier and the Calgary Stampeders (7-4) head to the provincial capital to play Taylor Cornelius and the Edmonton Elks (3-9).
Last week, the Stamps got off to a rough start, but Jake Maier got his head back in the game and played excellently. Even though the Elks have been rather poor this year, they managed to keep this game rather close, and there is no reason they cannot do it again.
They will likely not come up with a moneyline win; the Elks sure can cover the spread!
