Capitals at Bruins Betting Preview/Player Prop
05 March 2021

The Capitals have now won four straight games, and they have risen to the top of the East Division with 30 points. Since the beginning of February, Washington has been on a tear and looks like a team that can win the Stanley Cup.
Boston has lost three of their last four games, and they are starting to slide in the division standings. The Bruins come into this game with 27 points, good enough for fourth place in the East.
The Boston Bruins are -135 in this matchup with the Washington Capitals.
Capitals Converting on Power Play
The Washington Capitals have converted more than 28 percent of their chances on the power play, and they punish teams that take silly penalties. Washington is now scoring more than 3.3 goals per game, and they want to play extremely fast with the puck.
Nicklas Backstrom has been the star of the Capitals this season, but he has gotten plenty of support along the way. Backstrom leads the team with 10 goals and 15 assists, and he will have Boston's attention on Friday night.
However, Washington also allows more than three goals per game, which is an area of concern moving forward. The Capitals have allowed just seven goals in their last four wins, and they could be turning a corner.
Bruins Battling in Blue Paint
The Boston Bruins are allowing just 2.55 goals per game this season, and goaltending has been a big reason why. Tuukka Rask and Jaroslav Halak form a dynamic duo at that position, but they have gotten great play from the penalty kill as well.
Brad Marchand leads the Bruins with 10 goals and 14 assists this season, but the Bruins have struggled to score outside of their stars. David Pastrnak has chipped in with 10 goals as well, but Boston needs more offense from all four lines.
The Bruins have been on a recent slide, but this team has the talent to go on a long winning streak at any time.
Bruins Beat Up Capitals
The Washington Capitals were able to get past the Boston Bruins in the previous meeting, but the same thing won’t happen on Friday night. These two rivals have been extremely competitive in all of their games this season, but Boston is set to breakthrough.
The Bruins know that they need to start winning games to get back in the East Division title race, and it will start on Friday night. Look for Boston to shut down the explosive Capitals offense and find plenty of scoring of their own.
Washington will get some goals, but Boston will come away with a two-goal victory on Friday night. Bet the Boston Bruins -1.5 over the Washington Capitals in the East Division rivalry game.
Player Prop
Brad Marchand Over 0.5 Assists (-120)
Marchand has been the best player on the ice for the Bruins so far this season. Coming into tonight’s contest, Marchand leads the team in points (24), assists (14), goals (10), plus/minus (9) and shooting percentage (21.3).
Even during the Bruins current slump, Marchand has been a consistent contributor. He has produced points in five of the last six games, including assists in each of his last three games. And against the Capitals, Marchand has four points with two assists in three games.
With the Bruins needing a win tonight, look for Marchand to continue to lead the Bruins on the offensive end. Take Marchand to go Over 0.5 Assists (-120).
