A return trip to the postseason looks more doubtful after the Pittsburgh Pirates became sellers at the trade deadline. The Pirates sent closer Mark Melancon to the Nationals and starters Francisco Liriano and Jon Niese to the Blue Jays and Mets, respectively, without getting any real immediate help in return. On top of that, former MVP Andrew McCutchen remains mired in a season-long slump that finally had manager Clint Hurdle bench him for the current series with the Braves. The result has been mixed as the Bucs have split the first two games in Atlanta with the rubber game tonight.
