Ohio State christened the first ever FBS playoff with a run for the ages last season. After losing starting QB J.T. Barrett in the Michigan game, the Buckeyes rebounded behind third-string QB Cardale Jones to trounce Wisconsin, 59-0, in the Big Ten Championship and then erase a 21-6 deficit against Alabama in the FBS semifinal before finally dispatching Oregon in the championship game. OSU coach Urban Meyer will be aiming for an encore performance this year and the Buckeyes begin their quest for a second straight national championship with a tricky opener on the road tonight against Virginia Tech.
