After unloading stars such as Andrew McCuthchen and Gerrit Cole in the off-season, the expectation coming into the MLB season was that the Pittsburgh Pirates would take a step back this season. But that hasn't been the case in the first quarter of the season as the Bucs have posted a 25-17 record and are tied for first place with Milwaukee in the ultra-competitive NL Central Division.
