Brooklyn Nets at Portland Trail Blazers Betting Preview
17 November 2022

The Brooklyn Nets have had a really tough start to the season. Kevin Durant has played pretty well, but it hasn't resulted in much for the team.
They come into this game against the Trail Blazers with a record of 6-9. They've lost two games in a row, including a 153-121 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Tonight, they'll hope to get back on track when they face the Trail Blazers.
The Portland Trail Blazers have a 10-4 record and have done pretty well so far. A few nights ago, they faced the San Antonio Spurs and won 117-110. Over their last five games, the Trail Blazers have a record of 4-1.
With a few big wins under their belts, they'll look to add the Nets to their list of victories. However, this will be much easier said than done.
Brooklyn Nets: Durant needs help from the bench
One big problem in Brooklyn is Kevin Durant isn't getting much help. He himself is averaging 30.3 points per game which is definitely impressive.
However, his individual stats haven't resulted in wins for the team. As a group, the Nets are averaging 110.8 points per game, ranking 18th in the NBA. To beat the Trail Blazers, they'll need a lot more from their offense.
The person that was helping Durant the most was Kyrie Irving. However, trouble in the media has seen Irving ruled out for the last few games. The next highest scorer on the team is Nic Claxton, who averages 11.5 points per game.
The Nets have a poor excuse for a bench, with Ben Simmons averaging 5.8 points per game. So, we don't expect much from them this year.
Portland Trail Blazers: Defense is the key to a Portland win
The Portland Trail Blazers don't have a very good offense, either. On average, they're scoring 109.9 points per game this season. However, when you look at their last five games, you'll see that they win with great defense.
For instance, when they played the Charlotte Hornets, they held Charlotte to just 95 points. They'll look to do the same thing to the Nets tonight.
Although they average 109.9 points per game, they have one of the best field goal percentages in the league. Shooting 47.3% from the field, the Trail Blazers rank higher than the Phoenix Suns in that category.
Their defense ranks sixth in the NBA, allowing just 107.6 points per game. They'll use this to beat the Brooklyn Nets and earn their 11th win of the season.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Portland Trail Blazers Betting Pick
The Brooklyn Nets season hasn't started the way they would've liked. They're struggling to stop teams, and their offense doesn't support Kevin Durant. Because of this, we're going to take the Portland Trail Blazers tonight.
Portland has an incredible defense, and we'll see it in action again tonight. After being able to hold teams like the Charlotte Hornets to just 95 points. Look for the Trail Blazers to get another win at home over the Brooklyn Nets.
