Brooklyn Nets at Milwaukee Bucks Betting Preview/Prop Pick

26 February 2022

A heavily-injured Brooklyn Nets team takes on the Milwaukee Bucks in an Eastern Conference showdown. Both of these teams have the ability to win it all; it’s just unfortunate the Nets have suffered so many injuries.

Questions still surround Ben Simmons’ availability, and many hope that he’ll be active tonight. The question is, will that matter when the Nets take on the Bucks?

The Milwaukee Bucks are among the best teams in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks are dealing with a few injuries as well, but they’ll see a few players return tonight.

The main point is that Giannis Antetokounmpo will be playing, giving them a huge boost. For the Milwaukee Bucks, wins equal moving up in the conference; they won’t want to miss out on that chance.

Brooklyn Nets: No Kevin Durant, No Ben Simmons

Yet again, the Brooklyn Nets will be without Kevin Durant, who’s still dealing with an injury. Ben Simmons has been ruled out due to “conditioning.”

This is going to be a tough matchup for the Nets because they’re facing arguably the best player in basketball. Trying to guard Giannis Antetokounmpo isn’t an easy feat, especially if your own best player is on the sidelines.

Without Kevin Durant, the Nets will have to rely on players like Seth Curry and Andre Drummond. They’ll also have Kyrie Irving available for this game as long as he’s cleared to play.

Brooklyn has a strong offense, ranked 12th in the NBA, averaging 110.7 points per game. If they can get an edge over the Bucks, they can keep it close. However, that’s easier said than done.

Milwaukee Bucks: Looking to move up in the Eastern Conference

The Bucks currently sit at the No.4 spot in the Eastern Conference, but they aren’t far from No.3. They’re essentially a game behind the 76ers, and a win here could move them up. Their last game was a loss, in fact, to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Today, they’ll take on another Eastern Conference team and hope for better success. With Giannis on the court, anything is possible.

The Bucks average 113.17 points per game, ranking fifth in the NBA. They’ll also be adding a few of their injured players back into the lineup.

However, George Hill is still questionable with a neck injury. The Bucks are heavy favorites in this game, which shouldn’t be a surprise. However, their ability to cover it will depend on their ability to control the pace of the game.

Our pick for the Brooklyn Nets at Milwaukee Bucks

The Brooklyn Nets are away from home and missing their best player. Although they have a few guys that have stepped up, it’s hard to take them over Milwaukee.

However, we’ll say that neither of these teams has been even relatively good against the spread. Milwaukee has a horrible record of 11-20 ATS at home. Taking that into consideration, we’ll take the Nets.

Brooklyn has gone 4-6 ATS over their last ten games against the Bucks. They also come in as heavy underdogs in tonight’s game. They’re 16-14-1 against the spread on the road this season, but this team looks too beat up to build on that record.

Look for the injured Nets to lose the game with the Bucks covering the spread at home tonight.

DunkelIndex Free Pick: Milwaukee Bucks -9.50, OVER

Prop Pick

Milwaukee (-115) OVER 123.5 Points

Milwaukee is averaging 113.2 points per game on offense, which ranks No. 5 in the league. The Nets are allowing 111.1 points per game on defense, which ranks No. 19. Scores have gone OVER in each of the Buck’s last seven games overall.

With Dunkel predicting a Milwaukee win by the score of 129-112, take the Bucks (-115) to finish OVER their Vegas team total of 123.5 points against the Nets.
