Brooklyn Nets at Indiana Pacers Betting Preview/Player Prop

The Indiana Pacers host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night in an Eastern Conference showdown in the NBA. Indiana is looking to get into the playoff field in the East, while the Brooklyn Nets are trying to wrap up the number one seed.

Brooklyn comes into this game having won five straight games, and the Nets have done so in a very convincing fashion. The Nets are now 27-13 on the season and trail the Philadelphia 76ers by just one game for first place in the Atlantic Division.

The Indiana Pacers have failed to get things going this season, coming into Wednesday night with a record of 17-21. Indiana has lost three of their last four games, and they are in real danger of missing out on the NBA Playoffs

Pacers Playing Slow

The Indiana Pacers are not a very deep team, and that has forced them to try and slow things down in order to be competitive. Indiana is both averaging and allowing 112.5 points per game this season, and both numbers are right around league average.

Malcolm Brogdon leads the way for this team with 21.6 points per game, and All-Star Domantas Sabonis has chipped in with over 20 points per game. The Pacers have gotten Caris LeVert back into the lineup, and he could be a difference-maker in this game. 

Indiana does have the potential to be a solid defensive team, and they will need to take control of this game on that end of the floor if they want to pull off the upset. The Pacers simply can’t keep up if they allow Brooklyn to turn this into a track meet. 

Nets Scoring Some Points

The Brooklyn Nets are currently averaging 120.5 points per game, which is the top-scoring mark in the league. Brooklyn has three of the top offensive players in the NBA, and any one of them is able to take over a game.

Kyrie Irving leads the way for the Nets, averaging 27.6 points and 5.8 assists per game. James Harden registered a triple-double in the latest win over the New York Knicks, and playing without Kevin Durant has had no effect on this team. 

Brooklyn is giving up over 115 points per game, but their offense can overcome any defensive lapses. 

Brooklyn Beats Down Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are a team that is looking to make a late run into the playoff picture, but they just don’t have the offense to get it done. Indiana has done a nice job of slowing things down of late, but it hasn’t led to much success.

The Brooklyn Nets are an absolute juggernaut on offense, and this team continues to get better as the season moves along. Brooklyn is a legitimate NBA title contender, and they just have so many scoring options on the floor.

Indiana can keep this game close for a half, but that’s about all they can do. Brooklyn will simply score too many points on Wednesday night, and the Pacers won’t be able to keep up.

Indiana's defense has been a problem of late. The Pacers have given up at least 110 points in 8 of the last 9 games and at least 120 points in 9 games this season. Irving knows that all too well. In the first matchup this year on February 10, he had 35 points in 35 minutes while going 17 for 17 from the free throw line.
