The Boston Red Sox have been shopping around for a third baseman since the release of Pablo Sandoval, but ended up making a move internally as they called up top prospect Rafael Devers yesterday. Despite concerns about throwing the 20-year-old into the middle of a pennant race, GM Dave Dombrowski could not ignore Devers' hot bat (14-for-35; .400 average) since being called up to Triple-A. Devers is expected to be in uniform and available tonight as the Red Sox open up a series against the Mariners in Seattle.
