The Kansas City Royals (72-66; No. 13 in the Dunkel Index) can ill afford losses at this stage of the season as the defending champs try to creep back into the playoff picture. Last night, the Royals scuffled for most of the game against the last-place Twins, but a seven-run explosion in the ninth inning carried them to a 10-3 victory. KC will stay in the Twin Cities tonight as Danny Duffy (11-2, 3.13) takes the mound against Minnesota's Kyle Gibson (5-9, 5.31).
