Baylor comes into this game ranked inside of the Top 10, and that puts them on a track to reach the College Football Playoff with a great season. The Bears have some work to do in the Big 12, but they also can’t slip up in this one.
BYU has moved up to number 21 in the latest poll, and the Cougars entered the year with a ton of optimism. The Cougars will have limited chances to show up on a big national stage, and this will be one of those shots.

The Cougars did give up 21 points in Week 1, and that included 172 yards through the air. If BYU is going to be able to protect the home field, then it will be up to the secondary to make some big plays in this matchup.
BYU is at a disadvantage when it comes to size and athleticism, but they have enough talent to compete with any team in the country.

BYU has an offense that will be explosive in conference games this season, but that offense isn’t good enough to go head-to-head with some of the best teams in the country. If the Cougars try to turn this game into a shootout, then their defense is going to end up suffering.
Baylor is a Top 10 team for a reason this season, and that offense is going to put on another show in this game. The Bears also have a defense that has proven that it can get stops in the Big 12 Conference, and that unit will take over this game as well.
