Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview
04 December 2021
— Sunday, December 05th Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers
The race to take over the AFC North keeps getting tighter as the Ravens head to Pittsburgh. Frankly, the Steelers don't have a chance to take over the AFC North here but can hurt the Ravens record.
The Baltimore Ravens come off of a narrow, 16-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns last week. Can they claim yet another win over an AFC North rival on Sunday?
The Pittsburgh Steelers have had quite the roller coaster of a season. They haven't won a game in three weeks and were blown out last week by the Cincinnati Bengals. Coming off of that loss, they now host the Baltimore Ravens, one of the best teams in the AFC.
Can Big Ben & Co. finally get some offense going? Or will we see more of the same that we watched last week?
Baltimore Ravens: Can the Ravens further secure the North?
The Baltimore Ravens have pretty good control of the AFC North right now. They're sitting at an 8-3 record, and the closest team to them is the Cincinnati Bengals. A win over the Steelers means that they'll tighten their grip in the AFC North.
However, if they lose and the Bengals win, they'll have to fight to take control again. Needless to say, a win here is definitely needed.
The good news is the Ravens are starting to look more like themselves. They didn't score a lot of points last week, but they still secured the win. We believe this game will be pretty similar to their game against the Browns, quite ugly.
There is some great news for Baltimore, though, as Marlon Humphrey might be making his return. It'll be great to have him back in the secondary.
Pittsburgh Steelers: What's gone wrong in Pittsburgh
To be frank, the Steelers have looked like one of the worst offenses in the NFL lately. If not the worst, at least the most inconsistent. They scored 16 points against the Lions, 37 against the Chargers, and ten against the Bengals.
We'd just like for the same Steeler team to show up each week; apparently, that's too much to ask for. So, which team can we expect on Sunday?
The Steelers have one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL, allowing an average of 133.09 yards per game. The Baltimore Ravens have one of the best rushing offenses, averaging 150.73 yards per game.
We can see this one shaping up with the Ravens battering the Steelers on the frontlines all game. Unfortunately, the Steelers have no way of stopping Lamar Jackson.
Our Pick for the Ravens at the Steelers on Sunday
Each of these teams desperately needs a win on Sunday. The Steelers need one, so they can stay relevant in the playoff conversation.
The Ravens need it to tighten their grip on the AFC North. Although these division games are gritty, we've got to go with the Ravens.
They're 3-3 against the spread at home and only need to cover 3.5 points. The Steelers are still missing a ton of defensive players, so that definitely helps. Even if those players were in, the Steelers' offense is atrocious.
Look for the Ravens to win this game, cover the spread, and the total to go under 44.
