Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Game 5 Betting Preview

01 July 2021

The Milwaukee Bucks host the Atlanta Hawks for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday night, and the winner of this game will take a 3-2 series lead. The Phoenix Suns have already clinched a spot in the NBA Finals, and they are waiting on an opponent.

Atlanta is the number five seed in the Eastern Conference, but the Hawks have built up plenty of momentum during this postseason run. The Hawks are still a very young team, but they look to be ready to make a major statement.

Milwaukee has plenty of postseason experience, but they are still looking for their first NBA Finals trip during this run. The Bucks are just two wins away, but they are facing some serious adversity.

The Milwaukee Bucks are two-point favorites at home in Game 5 against the Atlanta Hawks.

Defense Can Dominate For Atlanta

The Atlanta Hawks gave up just 88 points in the Game 4 victory, and it was a dominating performance from start to finish. Atlanta is going to use the same strategy in Game 5, but things will be a bit different on the road.

Atlanta was without star Trae Young in Game 4, and his status for this game is up in the air. Young is averaging nearly 30 points per game during this playoff run, and he will be missed if he can’t suit up.

Lou Williams and Bogdan Bogdanovic carried Atlanta on offense in the Game 4 win, and the Hawks will need to shoot the ball well again on Thursday night.

Bucks Without Biggest Star

Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a knee injury in the Game 4 loss, and he is not expected to be available in Game 5. The “Greek Freak” is a two-time MVP of the league, and his absence will play a pivotal role in this series.

Khris Middleton is scoring more than 23 points per game in the postseason, and he has had some big games for the Bucks. Milwaukee wants to play extremely fast on offense, but several players are going to have to step up.

The Bucks also need to focus more on the defensive end as they can’t allow 110 points if they expect to win this game.

Hawks Fly to Series Lead

There are still questions surrounding the status of Trae Young, but the Hawks proved that they could win without him on Tuesday night. Atlanta is once again going to lead on its defense in Game 5, and that will be the key to success.

Milwaukee still has plenty of talent to win this game, but missing their star is a huge blow. The Bucks are no longer a dominant offensive team, and that is going to cost them a shot at an NBA Championship.

The injury to Antetokounmpo will play a massive role in the outcome, and the Hawks will take advantage of his absence. Bet the Atlanta Hawks money line as they are going to win this game and take a 3-2 series lead.
