Atlanta Braves at Los Angeles Dodgers NLCS Game 3 Betting Preview
19 October 2021
Game 3 of the NLCS is set for Tuesday night afternoon as the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to host the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta has taken a 2-0 series lead over Los Angeles, and this game feels like a must-win for the Dodgers.
Atlanta has now won five straight games in the postseason, and a number of these wins have been of the walk-off variety. The Braves come into this game with a ton of momentum, but playing in Los Angeles makes things a bit more difficult.
Los Angeles is a team that has faced some daunting deficits before, and they have always been able to find a way to come back. The Dodgers will be playing in front of a raucous crowd, and that could be the ticket to getting back in the series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the betting favorites at -182 over the Atlanta Braves for Game 3 of the NLCS.
Braves Getting Great Pitching
The Atlanta Braves have given up a total of 10 runs during their current five-game winning streak, and the entire pitching staff has been great. It will be veteran Charlie Morton on the mound Tuesday afternoon, and he has been known to deliver in the postseason.
Morton went 14-6 with a 3.34 ERA during the regular season for Atlanta, and he has also been solid so far in the postseason. The Braves have a bullpen that is pitching well, and another strong outing from Morton can set the tone.
Austin Riley has been the offensive star for the Braves this season, and that has continued in the postseason as well. Riley hit 33 home runs and drive in 107 runs this season, and he has been a problem for the Dodgers.
Dodgers Need to Break Through on Offense
The Los Angeles Dodgers scored seven runs in Game 3 of the NLDS, but the offense has really struggled since that time. Los Angeles has gotten off to a fast start in each of the first two NLCS games, but they haven’t been able to sustain a rally.
If the Dodgers offense can’t get going, then it will be up to Walker Buehler to set the tone. Buehler was one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, and he has allowed just four earned runs in 10.2 postseason innings.
Even though the Dodgers are down 2-0 in this series, there won’t be any panic from this veteran bunch.
Dodgers Get One Back
The first two games of this series have been extremely competitive, and it’s hard to see this game going any different. Homefield advantage has mattered in the first two games, and it is going to play a role in this matchup as well.
At some point, this Dodgers offense is going to break out and have a big game, and Game 3 of the NLCS just feels like the perfect time. Los Angeles will get a big outing from Walker Buehler, and that will take some pressure off of the offense to deliver.
Bet the Los Angeles Dodgers -182 as they pick up a win in Game 3 of the NLCS to put some pressure on the Atlanta Braves.
