The surprising Houston Astros (No. 8 in this week's Dunkel MLB Index) continue to hold onto their lead in the AL West thanks in large part to their dominance at home. Houston has an MLB-best 16-3 home mark since June 28, including taking 3 of 4 from the Tigers this weekend that helped erase the bitter taste of a 2-7 road trip. The Astros get to stay in the comfortable confines of Minute Maid Park tonight as they open a 4-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays. Taking the mound for Houston will be Scott Kazmir, who has just a 1.04 ERA in his four starts since coming over from Oakland despite a 1-2 record. He'll face Tampa Bay's Erasmo Ramirez (9-4, 3.59).
