Arkansas Razorbacks vs Gonzaga Bulldogs Betting Preview/Prop Pick

We are now in the Sweet 16 Round of the NCAA Tournament, and the games are supposed to start getting better at this point. The Arkansas Razorbacks take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the West Region, and this is one game that has a rather large spread. 

Arkansas comes into this game as the number four seed in the West Region, and they have been barely surviving in the NCAA Tournament. The Razorbacks have picked up a pair of close wins, including a win over New Mexico State in the Second Round.

Gonzaga is the number one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, but they haven’t exactly played like it up to this point. The Bulldogs needed a huge second-half rally to come from behind and get past the Memphis Tigers in the Second Round. 

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are nine-point betting favorites over the Arkansas Razorbacks in this Sweet 16 game.

Arkansas Has to Defend

If the Arkansas Razorbacks are going to pull off this upset, then they will have to be terrific on the defensive end of the floor. Arkansas held New Mexico State to just 48 points in the Second Round, but they struggled in the First Round.

Arkansas has the ability to score points against anyone, but they don’t want to turn this into a track meet with Gonzaga. JD Notae leads the team with over 18 points per game, and he will have to put on a show in this matchup. 

The Razorbacks have put together an impressive season, but it’s going to take their best effort to stun the Bulldogs. 

Gonzaga Going to Score

Gonzaga is scoring close to 88 points per game this season, and they are able to get offense from all over the floor. The Bulldogs have scored at least 81 points in each of their last four games, and it’s hard to see that changing.

Drew Timme leads the team with 18.2 points per game, and he was the player that really spurred the second-half comeback against Memphis. Freshman phenom Chet Holmgren has also had a monster season, and he will play a role in this game.

The Gonzaga defense has not been playing well in the NCAA Tournament, but this team always seems to turn it on when they need it.

Bulldogs Beat Up on Razorbacks

Gonzaga has not looked as sharp as they could have through the first two games, but that’s going to change at some point. The Bulldogs just have so many offensive weapons, and they are due for a monster game.

Arkansas is a team that wants to win games with their offense, and that’s not a great strategy to use against Gonzaga. The Razorbacks have not been a great defensive team for most of this season, and they are going to allow Gonzaga to have a huge game on the offensive end. 

This game might be close in the first half, but that’s about all you can expect in this one. Take the Gonzaga Bulldogs -9.0 as they cruise to a double-digit win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in this showdown in the Sweet 16.
