Week 2 of the college football season is now underway, and it's another opportunity for teams to show that they are bowl contenders. The Oklahoma State Cowboys host the Arizona State Sun Devils in an interesting matchup on Saturday night.
Arizona State picked up a dominant 40-3 win over Northern Arizona in the first week of the season. The Sun Devils could make some noise in the Pac-12 Conference this season, but this game will be a big test.
Oklahoma State is also 1-0 on the year after finding a way to survive against a tough Central Michigan team. The Cowboys are ranked number 11 in the latest poll, and they should have a shot at winning the Big 12 Conference.

Sun Devils Want to Run
The Arizona State Sun Devils might have scored 40 points in the season opener, but they are not a team that is going to score points in a hurry. Arizona State rushed for 267 yards in the season opener, and they are going to try and use that strategy again in this one.
Xazavian Valladay had 116 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in Week 1, and he will get plenty of touches in this game. The Sun Devils will have to find some balance on offense as well, as this team struggled to throw the football to begin the year.
The defense of Arizona State allowed just three points in Week 1, but that unit will be tested in a big way in this game. Arizona State will need great play from the secondary, and they also need to find a way to pressure the quarterback.
Cowboys Will Air it Out
Oklahoma State will try to speed up the pace in this one, and they will do most of the work through the air. Quarterback Spencer Sanders is one of the best players in the country, and he can light it up.
Sanders threw for 406 yards and four touchdowns in Week 1, and he will have another big day if he has time to operate. Oklahoma State does need to find a way to run the ball more effectively, but they will throw it until they get stopped.
The defense of the Cowboys also needs to improve in a big way as that unit was torched in the season opener. Oklahoma State gave up 424 passing yards, and that's just not going to work in this one.
Cowboys Survive Scare From Sun Devils
The team that is able to establish the pace and tempo of this game will likely be the team that comes away with the win. Oklahoma State wants to play fast, but Arizona State needs to control the game with its defense.
The Sun Devils just don't have a good enough passing attack to really threaten the Oklahoma State defense, and that's going to be a problem in this one. Arizona State should be able to slow down the Cowboys, but they just won't score enough points to pull off this upset on the road.
The bet to make is taking the Sun Devils +11.0, but it will be Oklahoma State that comes away with the win on Saturday night.
