Ambetter Health 400 2023 Betting Preview

16 March 2023 By Tyler Vaysman

Hendrick Motorsports-Chevrolet's William Byron won his second consecutive race, taking home the United Rentals Work United 500 last weekend in oni Phoenix. Byron is the first driver since current NASCAR points leader Kevin Harvick won back-to-back races in Michigan and Richmond in 2022.

Byron's second straight win was Hendrick Motorsports' third win of the NASCAR season, while the win marked Chevrolet's fourth-consecutive Cup Series win. NASCAR heads east to Georgia, stopping at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Ambetter 400, with a host of Chevrolet rides leading betting favorites and likely the race on Sunday.

Will Byron win three straight races?

The last driver to win three straight wins was Hendrick Motorsports' teammate Kyle Larson, who won three consecutive races twice in 2021. Larson is not a former Cup Series winner at Atlanta but is a betting favorite every week and a potential Cup Series Champion.

Byron won the 2022 edition of this race and sits alongside the 2021 winner, Team Penske-Ford's Ryan Blaney, as betting favorites heading into Atlanta.

Blaney's odds are a little lower, but after finishing second in Phoenix, he is poised to live up to his preseason and weekly betting favorite status and potentially win again in Atlanta.

Stewart-Haas Racing-Ford's Kevin Harvick has had a consistent but unremarkable season that has landed him atop the points standings early this season. Harvick is one of the top ten picks to win in Atlanta and has won this race twice (2018, 2020).

Weekly betting favorite Joe Gibbs Racing-Toyota's Denny Hamlin is coming off a 23rd-place finish in Phoenix but has winning pedigree in Atlanta, having won this race back in 2012.

Richard Childress Racing-Chevrolet's Kyle Busch is a threat to land in the top five every weekend and has pretty consistent odds to do so. Busch is a perennial betting favorite, currently sitting fifth in the Drivers' Championship, having won in Atlanta in 2013 and looking poised for his second win of the season.

A First-Time Winner?

While the list of betting favorites for the Ambetter Health 400 features many previous Cup Series winners in Atlanta, there are a few threats from the field who could win their first races in Atlanta.

Trackhouse Racing-Chevrolet's Ross Chastain will need to improve on finishing 24th in Phoenix to regain the Championship lead but is among the top ten drivers who could win in Atlanta.

2022 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Team Penske-Ford's Joey Logano can win every weekend but is looking to bounce back into the top ten after a great start but a 36th-place finish at Las Vegas and an 11th-place finish in Phoenix.

Ambetter Health 400 Winner

After reviewing the important information, the Dunkel Index is predicting perennial betting favorite Kyle Busch (244.140) to get his second Cup Series win in Atlanta, winning the 2023 Ambetter Health 400.
