Ace In The Hole

03 June 2017

The expected aces of the New York Mets staff -- Jacob deGrom and Matt Harvey -- were each roughed up in their last start with deGrom giving up seven runs in four innings against Milwaukee on Wednesday and Harvey being tagged for six runs in five-plus innings last night versus Pittsburgh. Surprisingly, the most consistent starter of late for the Mets has been rookie Robert Gsellman, who has allowed only four earned runs over his last two starts. Terry Collins will turn to the rookie tonight to see if he can control a Pirates offense that has scored 18 runs over the last two games.
