As mentioned, many golfers are making one last stop to fine-tune their game before the Masters. One of those players is Rory Mcllroy, who has opted in the past to skip this event for some rest and practice time of his own.
This event is not overly difficult in comparison to other events on the year. As long as you are a good ball striker off the tee, have a solid iron play, and make putts when it counts, then you are in good shape.

Golfers That Could Win
Corey Conners (-30.589) is a great value right now for his previous experience to win. He has a T26 in 2018, a victory in 2019, and a T14 in 2021. His results this year so far have been up and down, but his current value is hard to pass up.
Adam Hadwin (-32.366) is another high-quality golfer with great odds for a good payout. He has two consecutive top 10 finishes coming into this event, as well as five top 30’s in his previous events. Over the last 24 rounds, he has been in excellent form and will definitely be a troublemaker for the field.
Potential Winning Pick
Rory McIlroy (-26.080) is arguably the biggest name in this field with the most amount of motivation to get something done. He has yet to win a Masters and needs something to get his mind right. Look for him to come into this event as serious as ever.
Prop Picks
Tournament Matchup: Tony Finau (-110) OVER Adam Hadwin
After a rough start to the season in Florida, Finau has shown signs of turning it around. He finished off the WGC-Dell Match Play with a 4&2 win over Xander Schauffele. He’s also had some success at the Valero, finishing 3rd in 2017.
Hadwin has also been on a hot streak since missing the cut at the Genesis Invitational with back-to-back Top 10 finishes at the Players and Valspar. His best finish at the Valero came last season when he tied for 23rd.
With Finau rated No. 8 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Hadwin at No. 10, these two should still be in the mix on Sunday, but take Finau (-110) to edge out the Canadian in the end.
Tournament Matchup: Gary Woodland (-120) OVER Maverick McNealy
Woodland has already had two Top 5 finishes at the Honda Classic and Arnold Palmer Invitational. After taking last week off, he looks to build on his tie for 6th at the Valero last year.
McNealy has missed only one cut in his 13 tournaments so far and came close to making the knock out rounds last week in Austin. But he also failed to finish better than a tie for 30th in four of the previous five tournaments.
With Woodland ranked No. 3 in this week’s Dunkel Index and McNealy No. 11, take the former US Open winner (-120) to get the better of this matchup.
Tournament Matchup: Corey Conners (-110) OVER Jordan Spieth
Conners won here last year and has never finished worse than 26th in his three appearances. He’s also coming off a 3rd place finish last week at the WGC-Dell Match Play.
Spieth used the Valero last year to end a winless drought that had extended to 83 events. He enters this year’s not having won since San Antonio. And his best finish in his last four tournaments is a tie for 26th at the Genesis Invitational.
With Conners rated No. 4 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Spieth at No. 9, take Conners (-110) to have the edge in this duel between two former champs.
