The 2022 Genesis Invitational is one of the premium events of the year for golf. It is not often that you get to see nearly every top 50 golfer competing to win one tournament.
On top of that, you have one of the more difficult yet beautiful golf courses to compete on. Check out who might surprise in this tournament of top-ranked golfers.

Betting Overview
This course is the Riviera Country Club, located in Los Angeles. The event will be hosted by Tiger Woods, with a 120 player field consisting of 35 out of 50 of the best golfers in the world.
In addition, the entire top 10 in the rankings will be competing. This also creates an opportunity to see who is better than who when performing on such a difficult course.
Head to Head Matchup to Watch
Jon Rahm (-21.409) and Collin Morikawa (-17.704) lead the world golf ranking pack as one and two, respectively. Between the two, this could be a chance to see who is the better golfer.
Rahm has looked considerably better on paper than Morikawa has lately. Given the odds between the two, Morikawa looks more of an attractive bet even though Rahm might perform better.

Golfers That Could Win
Justin Thomas (-20.457) needs some consideration when trying to pick someone to win at Genesis. After finishing in eighth place at Phoenix last week, he was nearly in contention the entire time, but his putter was to blame down the stretch. He nearly won this event back in 2019 but has missed two cuts since then.
Collin Morikawa (-17.704) is guaranteed to deliver on ball striking and strokes gained per round. However, his putter might put him in a situation that he cannot get himself out of. This could go either way, but his odds are intriguing.
Potential Winning Pick
Patrick Cantlay (-16.613) is on a tear right now and comes into Riviiera with the No. 1 rating in the Dunkel Index. After taking home the FedEx Cup and $15 million last year, Cantlay has continued that surge this year with a 4th-place finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and Top 10 finishes at The American Express and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He topped it off last week with a 2nd at the WM Phoenix Open after losing in a playoff to Scottie Scheffler.
After knocking on the winner's door repeatedly, it might not hurt to throw some money his way again in LA.

Head-To-Head: Russell Henley (-110) OVER Talor Gooch
Henley is 3rd on the Tour in scoring average (69.430) and has a pair of Top 10 finishes in his last five tournaments.
Gooch has finished inside the Top 20 only once since winning The RSM Classic back in November.
With Henley rated No. 15 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Gooch at No. 16, look for both these golfers to be on the leaderboard this weekend, but take Henley to get the better of this matchup.
Head-To-Head: Patrick Cantlay (+105) OVER Jon Rahm
The 2021 Player of the Year remained red hot with a second-place finish at Phoenix and heads to Riviera where he has four straight Top 20 finishes.
Rahm is the Vegas favorite to win the Genesis following a Top 10 finish at Phoenix, where he also came in the Vegas favorite. The Spaniard has also enjoyed success at Riviera where he finished in a tie for 5th last year.
With Cantlay rated No. 1 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Rahm at No. 7, this battle of the titans should go down to the wire but take Cantlay at plus-money (+105) to edge out Rahm in their head-to-head.
Head-To-Head: Collin Morikawa (-110) OVER Viktor Hovland
Entering just his second PGA tournament in the new year, Morikawa didn’t show any rust in his last tournament when he fired a final-round 62 to finish in a tie for 5th at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
Hovland finished in a tie for 5th at the Genesis last year and is looking to bounce back after missing the cut last week at the Phoenix Open.
