The first two days of this event will be played at both North and South courses of Torrey Pines. However, after the cut is made, the last two rounds are played at the South course.
The North course is 500 yards shorter than the South, meaning better opportunities for players that do not drive as strong or allow for mistakes off the tee. This also makes betting options a bit different once the two rounds have commenced.

Golfers That Could Win
Bryson DeChambeau (-26.062) is a “long shot” for this event. He did not perform here last year, but he did engage in excellent play in the 2021 U.S. Open during the first three rounds (at Torrey Pines). However, his game fell apart in the final round, and was unable to stay consistent.
Xander Schauffele (-21.394) came in a four-way tie for second at this event last season. Based on the current field, he has another opportunity to repeat success and even take the victory. Throwing some money towards Schauffele could prove to be worth it for the seventh-ranked golfer in the world.
Potential Winning Pick
Daniel Berger (-18.982) offers one of the more complete packages at this course. Compared to the field, he has the best ball-striking here over the last 20 rounds.
In addition, his short game will be key in both the North and South courses. Currently 16th in the world and with an impressive Ryder Cup performance last season, you should expect to see an outstanding performance.

Head-To-Head: Marc Leishman (+100) Over Dustin Johnson
Leishman captured this tournament in 2020 and is off to another strong start this year with Top 10 finishes in the Fortinet Championship, Shriner’s Children’s Open and Sentry Tournament of Champions. Johnson, meanwhile, will be making his first appearance on Tour since a tie for 45th at the CJ Cup back in October.
With Leishman rated No. 5 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Johnson at No. 12, go with the Australian at plus money (+100) to get the better of this head-to-head matchup in Torrey Pines.
Head-To-Head: Jordan Spieth (-120) Over Justin Rose
Spieth is looking for a better performance in San Diego after missing the cut last year and comes in with a pair of Top 20 finishes in his last five tournaments. Rose struggled in the second round of the American Express last week and finished in a disappointing tie for 33rd.
With Spieth rated No. 7 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Rose at No. 24, take the former major champ at a solid price (-120) to win his head-to-head against Rose.
Head-To-Head: Billy Horschel (+105) Over Max Homa
Horschel has been a little bit of a wild card at Torrey Pines with Top 10 finishes in 2016 and 2019, while missing the cut last year. He does come in having made all three of his cuts so far this season. Homa had a good California swing last year, including a win at the Genesis Invitational. But he has been inconsistent so far this year with a tie for 72nd at the CJ Cup and missing the cut at the RSM Classic.
With Horschel rated No. 10 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Homa at No. 33, the former Florida Gator looks to be another good plus-money pick (+105) to take his head-to-head contest with Homa.
