Betting Overview
This event is known for a respectable but slightly lacking field in comparison to the top events of the year. Only ten players in the top 50 in the world will be competing, while the other top names compete in a different event.
With that being said, it does help narrow down the usual suspects that have performed well here in the past and the ones that are dependable. Patrick Cantlay (4th) and Daniel Berger (16th) are arguably two early favorites with their current ranking. Take Cantlay to redeem himself against Berger.

Patrick Cantlay (-17.803) and Daniel Berger (-26.380) are going to attract a lot of attention. With the two of three being the best ranked in the field (15th for Spieth), many will flock to watching their performances.
It also helps that Berger won this event last year in stunning fashion on the last day of the event. In addition, Cantlay placed T3 and had to be kicking himself after almost winning the event.

Golfers That Could Win
One underdog to look into is Jordan Spieth (-35.556). He won his event back in 2017 and has steadily remained within the top 20 world rankings. In addition, he also tied for third with Cantlay last season here.
Maverick McNealy (-28.454) is another excellent underdog pick. He came in second behind Berger last year here and also put on an exciting last round of golf. In that week alone, he gained a bit over eight shots against the field when looking from tee to green.
Potential Winning Pick
Patrick Cantlay (-17.803) is off to a great start to the 2022 season. Leading up to this, his last victory was at the Tour Championship back in September of last year. The next two events were in 2022, where he placed fourth as ninth.
Cantlay loves the courses here for this event and nearly came close to winning it last season. With his recent success, a shot at redemption, and the best ranking in the field, look for him to claim a win.

Head-To-Head: Justin Rose (+100) Over Will Zalatoris
Rose has three Top 20 finishes in his last four tournaments, including a tie for 6th at last week’s Farmers Insurance Open.
Zalatoris came up just short of his first PGA Tour victory at the Farmers, losing in a playoff with Luke List. He has been hot lately with three straight Top 10 finishes, but struggled last year at Pebble Beach before finishing in a tie for 55th.
With Rose ranked No. 2 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Zalatoris No. 17, take the veteran Englishman at plus money (+100) to get the better of this matchup.
Head-To-Head: Denny McCarthy (+105) Over Matt Kuchar
McCarthy ranks 9th on Tour in scoring average (69.798) and finished in a tie for 6th in his last event at The American Express.
Kuchar finished 7th at the Sony Open, but is coming off a season where he missed 12 of 25 cuts and finished 123rd in scoring average (71.250).
With McCarthy ranked No. 4 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Kuchar No. 13, take the 28-year-old former UVA player in another plus-money situation (+105) to get the better of the veteran at Pebble Beach.
Head-To-Head: Ryan Palmer (-120) Over Troy Merritt
Palmer has been a model of consistency this month with a tie for 12th at the Sony Open and tie for 16th at the Farmers Insurance Open. He ranks 13th in scoring average (69.840).
Merritt failed to make the cut in his only January event at The American Express. That follows a season where he missed the cut in 14 of 33 events and finished 82nd in scoring average (70.942).
With Palmer ranked No. 5 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Merritt No. 33, take the veteran Palmer (-120) to continue his consistent play and get the better of this matchup.
Head-To-Head: Lanto Griffin (-120) Over Christian Bezuidenhout
Following a tie for 3rd at The American Express, Griffin slipped a bit last week to a tie for 30th at the Farmers, but still finished strong with a 65 on Saturday.
Bezuidenhout has dropped in each of his last three events from a tie for 17th at the Sony Open to 40th at The American Express and 46th at the Farmers, where he closed with a 73.
With Griffin ranked No. 9 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Bezuidenhout No. 10, this one should be close, but go with Griffin (-120) to pull out this head-to-head matchup.
