Betting Overview
The defending champion Bryson DeChambeau will be back in action after suffering an injury in January. The odds of him performing well are not great, but the market still believes he can get it done.
The reason for his success on a course like this is due to his ability to smash golf balls off the tee and set up easy iron shots, especially since many par fives can be reached in two this way. However, other players can be just as capable of landing solid drives and carefully striking iron to set up birdies.
Head to Head Matchup to Watch
Rory McIlroy (-23.029) and Viktor Hovland (-25.227) are going to be the pair to watch for this event. Mcllroy is behind Hovland in the rankings at fifth but has played very well here.
Hovland has had mixed results this year, and it is unknown when the fourth-best golfer in the world is going to show up. Taking Mcllroy over him would be the better decision.

Golfers That Could Win
Jason Day (-31.960) is another one of those players that can smash it off of the tee and can putt very well. In addition, he also won this event back in 2016 and was even able to celebrate with Palmer himself.
Tyrrell Hatton (-31.879) does not exactly bomb it off of the tee every single time, but the man is consistent. He definitely has a shot to keep things close as long as he continues to find fairways and avoid traps.
Scottie Scheffler (-25.920) won this year at the Waste Management Open and then tied for seventh at the Genesis the following week against a loaded field. He has the best momentum out of anyone to get the job done at this event.
Potential Winning Pick
Throwing a bone to Rory McIlroy (-23.029) this time, hoping he can wake up this golf season. His numbers have not been bad, especially with a T10 at the Genesis. He has the best strokes gained average out of anyone in the field playing at this event, so this has to play out for him at some point.

Head-To-Head: Max Homa (-120) OVER Maverick McNealy
Homa finished 10th at the Arnold Palmer last year. He’s coming off a tie for 10th at The Genesis Invitational and has had three Top 20 finishes in the four tournaments he’s entered in 2022.
McNealy also had good performance at Riviera with a tie for 7th, but had failed to crack the Top 20 in his three previous tournaments.
With Homa ranked No. 6 in this week’s Dunkel Index and McNealy No. 8, these two should be joekeying for position on the leaderboard all weekend, but take Homa (-120) to have the edge in this matchup.
Head-To-Head: Adam Scott (-130) OVER Russell Henley
Scott is another pro who had a good week at Riviera with a tie for 4th. He’s also had some success at Bay Hill with a Top 12 finish in 2016 and a Top 3 two years before.
Henley has made the cut in every event so far this season and sparkled with a 2nd-place finish at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He’s slowed down a bit recently with a pair of ties for 33rd at the WM Phoenix Open and Genesis Invitational.
With Scott ranked No. 5 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Henley No. 18, take the Australian veteran to get the better of this matchup.
