08 October 2021

Another pivotal race in the NASCAR playoffs will take place in North Carolina. The Charlotte Motor Speedway has been an interesting track to race on in the past, so this should be another display of excellent racing.
This will also be another road course race, which many drivers typically favor. Below you will see who could potentially take home the victory.
Race Details
Date: Sun, Oct 10, 2:00 PM
Watch on: NBC
Track: Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course
Betting Overview
The current event will be the Round of 12, which are the 12 remaining drivers that are in contention. This race will help eliminate four additional drivers as the playoffs will move to the Round of 8.
Head to Head Matchup to Watch
Chase Elliott (153.962) and Kyle Larson (155.557) are both top picks to win this race. They both have great success at road courses and make a strong case to win again.
You could almost flip a coin for these two for how well they have responded to these tracks. However, anything could happen with other drivers intervening.

Drivers That Could Win
Kyle Larson (155.557) took home a victory at Watkins Glen and Sonoma. He also came in second at COTA, which arguably he should have won, but the race ended early because of rain.
In addition, he has several appearances within the top three to make other drivers sweat. Not only that, but he is still the favorite to win the playoffs and has been the fastest driver out there.
Martin Truex Jr (151.492) will be hard to ignore, especially after a close finish at the inaugural race. He has two seventh-place finishes and three top 10 finishes overall out of his last four starts this season.
William Byron (163.563) is your sleeper pick here, but only if it plays out in his favor. He placed sixth in his last two ROVAL races, placed sixth at Watkins, and could have had an incredible finish in Indy, but the crash bear the end-stopped that from happening.
Potential Winning Pick
Chase Elliott (153.962) took home a victory for both of the last ROVAL races. He also has a sixth-place finish before those two, setting up a trio of excellent performances.
In addition, he has four top-two finishes when looking at his last five road four races. He has shown dominance alongside Larson on road courses, but he is the favorite for a reason.
Prop Play
Top 5 Finish: Martin Truex Jr. (-110)
Sitting 20 points above the cutoff line for the Round of 8, Truex looks to be in good position heading to Charlotte. But he’s not taking anything for granted.
It’s been reported that Truex is bringing back his old crew chief, Cole Pearn, to be an additional spotter. Pearn served as Truex’s crew chief from 2015-19 and helped guide him to 24 victories, four Championship Four appearances and the 2017 Cup Series championship.
Truex will be looking to improve on his 12th place finish at Talladega last week and comes in finishing in the Top 10 in each of the last two races at Charlotte Roval. He was leading the inaugural race at the track into the final turn in 2018 before he and Jimmie Johnson spun out.
Rated No. 2 in this week's Dunkel Index, we’ll bank on better fortune on Sunday and take Truex (-110) to finish in the Top 5 in Charlotte.
It looks like we are in for another exciting race! Keep up with your latest NASCAR news coverage and betting pick previews at The Dunkel Index.
