2020 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open Betting Preview
07 October 2020

This week's PGA event is arguably one of the strongest PGA Tour fields we have seen. This includes the likes of the US Open, with this event taking place in Las Vegas starting Thursday.
The 2020 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open has a 144-man field, fronted by US Open champ and Golfweek/Sagarin's 10th-ranked golfer, Bryson DeChambeau, who is arguably the tournament betting favorite.

Potential Winning Picks
Scottie Scheffler (-1.450)
Scheffler was an interesting betting favorite for last week's Sanderson Farms Championship, coming in at +900 on the pre-tournament odds. However, he finished tied for 37th in his first event since the Tour Championship and having to withdraw from the US Open following a positive COVID-19 test.
Since that time, his betting odds have risen considerably, even with the much stronger field. He is now an excellent value play while sharing the eighth-best odds to win.
Scheffler was able to place in the top five in three of his last four events before having to withdraw with COVID. He will be up against some tough competition against players that have done well in the PGA Championship and the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Tony Finau (-1.641)
Tony Finau is another interesting pick, even though he comes in around the top 10. Finau is returning from an excellent performance in the US Open, in which he earned an eighth-place finish at Winged Foot.
Finau, however, has been somewhat inconsistent this past year. He had events that had him finishing outside the top 30 in a rough play seven times out of his last 14 starts on the PGA Tour.
Finau's inconsistency can be directly linked to his lack of being able to find the fairway off the tee. The 31-year-old had finished last season ranked 184th in driving accuracy percentage (51.79), which does not look so great for his chances to finish on top of the leaderboard.
Although he is not a strong pick, he is worth a mention at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open 2020 field.
Winner of this Event
Bryson DeChambeau (2.789)
Bryson DeChambeau is arguably one of the best picks coming into this event, with a strong performance so far this year. The last time he was a heavy favorite was at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
In the last few events this year, he has finishes of tying for third place, eighth place and sixth place, in addition to his Rocket Mortgage win. He is a strong pick and one that should perform very well here.
