The LeBron-Zion Show Part II takes place tonight as the LA Lakers (45-13) head to New Orleans to face the streaking Pelicans (26-33). LeBron James and the Lakers got the best of Zion Williamson and Pelicans, 118-109, in the first meeting in LA on Tuesday. It was a rare slip for the Pels, who have won 20 of 31 after a 6-22 start and now trail Memphis for the No. 8 spot in the playoff standings by only 2 1/2 games. If Alvin Gentry's team were to get in, their first round matchup would likely be against the top-seeded Lakers, who had a rare slip of their own last night while falling to Memphis, 105-88, after winning seven straight coming in. The college hardwood features a couple important Big Ten contests today capped off with the Minnesota Golden Gophers (13-14) visiting the Wisconsin Badgers (18-10). Minnesota's NCAA Tournament chances took a serious blow in their last outing after letting a 17-point lead against Maryland slip away before losing, 74-73, on a last-second shot. The loss came despite a standout performance from Daniel Oturu, who finished with 28 points and 11 rebounds. The Badgers have been just the opposite in finding ways to win and Greg Gard's team is riding a five-game winning streak following their 81-74 win over Michigan on Thursday. In the NHL, two teams fighting to make the postseason will take the ice as the Columbus Blue Jackets (31-21-14) host the Vancouver Canucks (34-24-6). Columbus is holding onto the final wild card spot in the East despite a 1-5-5 record in their last 11 games, while Vancouver is one of seven teams in the West jockeying for the final four playoff spots and is coming off back-to-back road losses to Toronto and Ottawa.
