The final two games before the NBA All-Star break take place tonight with the marquee matchup occurring in Boston where the Celtics (37-16) will host their former head coach, Doc Rivers, and the LA Clippers (37-17). Rivers' team is 1-2 on its current four-game road trip and coming off a 110-103 loss at Philadelphia on Tuesday despite Kawhi Leonard reaching the 30-point mark for the 10th time in his last 13 games. His counterpart, Paul George, was not nearly as efficient, finishing with just 11 points on 3-of-15 shooting. The Celtics were on a roll with seven straight wins before slipping against the Rockets on the road, 116-105, on Tuesday. The Clips have won the last four meetings between the two teams with the last coming on November 20 in LA. Tip off is 8:00 p.m. EST at TD Garden. A big battle for the top of the Pac-12 standings is on tap tonight in Oregon where the Ducks (18-6) will host the first place Colorado Buffaloes (19-5). Oregon is trying to bounce back following back-to-back 10-point losses to Stanford (70-60) and Oregon State (63-53), while Colorado will be looking to take the regular season series after beating the Ducks in Boulder, 74-65, back on January 2. And Alex Ovechkin will take his effort to join the 700-goal club on the road as the Washington Capitals (36-15-5) open up a three-game road trip in Colorado against the Avalanche (33-16-6). Ovechkin and the Caps came up short in a 5-3 loss to the Islanders on Monday that was Washington's third loss in the last four games. The Avalanche have been sizzling with five straight wins and eight of their last nine to move within a point of St. Louis for first place in the Central Division.
