The sight of the Chicago Bears may bring back flashbacks for the LA Rams to last year's game at Soldier Field. LA was flying high at 11-1 with arguably the most explosive offense in football. But Khalil Mack and the Bears defense put the clamps on Sean McVay's offense in a 15-6 Chicago win. The stakes may be just as high this season but for different reasons as neither team is a lock to make the postseason. The Bears (4-5) have struggled all year with Mitchell Trubisky at QB, but got some help last week when Matthew Stafford was forced to sit out and Chicago took advantage with a 20-13 win over the Lions. Surprisingly, the Rams (5-4) have been struggling on offense of late behind QB Jared Goff and are coming off a disappointing 17-12 loss to the Steelers. The precipitous fall for the Golden State Warriors (2-11) continues helped by a rash of injuries. The latest to go down is D'Angelo Russell, who sprained his thumb Friday night and is expected to miss at least two weeks. Tonight the shorthanded Warriors will be on the road against another team that was hit by the injury bug -- the New Orleans Pelicans (3-9). The Pels, who are already missing prized rookie Zion Williamson, were forced to play without five of their top seven scorers in yesterday's 109-94 loss to Miami. On the college hardwood, the Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-0) are off to a solid start in non-conference play with wins over Oral Roberts, UMKC and College of Charleston. This afternoon, they'll host an NIT Season Tip-Off game against the Yale Bulldogs (2-1), who are coming off an 84-79 loss at San Francisco last Monday night. The NHL has only two games on the schedule, including the Calgary Flames (10-9-3) heading to Vegas to face the Golden Knights (9-9-3). Both teams are trying to snap losing skids as the Flames have dropped three straight, while the Golden Knights have lost five in a row.
