After back-to-back nights of nothing but MAC football, the ACC will slip a game in tonight between the North Carolina Tar Heels (4-5, No. 54 in the Dunkel Index) and Pittsburgh Panthers (6-3, No. 35). The Tar Heels are struggling to get back to bowl eligibility following losses in five of their last seven games, including last week's 38-31 defeat to Virginia. The Panthers won a defensive struggle against Georgia Tech, 20-10, and have won five of their last six. Kick off is 8:00 p.m. EST at Heinz Field. The Brooklyn Nets western road trip continues tonight in Denver. The Nets (4-6) opened with a win at Portland, but have suffered back-to-back losses to Phoenix and Utah, the latter coming after Brooklyn blew a 15-point halftime lead. The Nuggets (7-3) opened up the homestand on Tuesday with a disappointing 125-121 loss to Atlanta that represented the most points Denver has given up this season. On the college hardwood, the St. Mary's Gaels (1-1) opened the season with an overtime win against Wisconsin, but suffered their first defeat on Monday night against Winthrop, 61-59.
