The Philadelphia Flyers (2-0-1) have started out the season on a world-wide tour as they opened up with a game in Prague, returned home for one game and are now in the middle of a three-game Western Canada swing. So far Alain Vigneault's team has handled the travel well with the only setback coming in a shootout loss to Vancouver on Saturday. Tonight, the Flyers will continue their road trip against the Calgary Flames (2-3-1), who are coming off a 3-1 loss to San Jose on Sunday. The puck drops at 9:00 p.m. EST at Scotiabank Saddledome. The NBA preseason continues with three games on the card, including the Philadelphia 76ers continuing their tune-up for an expected Eastern Conference championship run with a game against the Detroit Pistons. The Sixers (3-0) have been perfect in the preseason and are coming off a 126-94 win at Orlando on Sunday. Week 6 of the NFL schedule wrapped up last night with a last-second win by Green Bay over Detroit, 23-22. The big move in the Dunkel rankings continued to come from the San Francisco 49ers, who jumped up to No. 2 following their 20-7 win over the Rams. And Week 7 of college football concluded with the big upset coming at Georgia yesterday where the South Carolina Gamecocks knocked off the Bulldogs, 20-17, in double overtime. The loss drops Georgia out of the latest Dunkel Index Top 5, with Oklahoma taking over Georgia’s previous No. 4 spot and Penn State moving up to No. 5 after the Nittany Lions 17-12 win at Iowa.
