New Orleans fans heaved a sigh of relief last week when the Drew Brees-less Saints pulled out a 33-27 win at Seattle. It was the Saints (2-1) first win since Brees went down with a thumb injury and backup Teddy Bridgewater filled in. The offense is still not clicking as it has in the past -- New Orleans ranks just 21st in yards per game (339.7) -- but there have been signs of improvement. Coming home tonight should help, although their opponent, the Dallas Cowboys (3-0), is one of the hottest teams in the early going. Dak Prescott (920 yards, 9 TDs) has been sensational and the running game behind Ezekiel Elliott and rookie Tony Pollard rank third in the league with 179 yards per game. The last day of the MLB regular season takes place with the only race still to be decided to rest in the NL Central. Last night, the Brewers were one out away from moving into a tie with the Cardinals for first place, but Colorado tied it in the 9th and then won it in the 10th with a Trevor Story HR. The WNBA Finals start this afternoon with the Washington Mystics (26-8) hosting the Connecticut Sun (23-11). Washington advanced by beating the Las Vegas Aces in four games, while Connecticut had a surprisingly easy time in sweeping the Los Angeles Sparks in three.
