The Chicago Cubs (82-76) were officially eliminated from playoff contention last night, ending a string of four straight postseason appearances including the 2016 World Series title. It's been a disappointing end for Joe Maddon's club, which has lost eight straight and raised questions about whether their manager will return next season. Playing out the string, the Cubs will wrap up their series against the Pirates tonight in Pittsburgh.
