After a Week 1 disaster at home against the Tennessee Titans, the Cleveland Browns (1-1) took advantage of a shorthanded NY Jets team to bounce back last week with a 23-3 victory. But Cleveland still has not looked like the title contender many expected to come into the season. Tonight, the Browns will see how they stack up against a real title contender -- last year's NFC champion LA Rams (2-0). Led by QB Jared Goff on offense and two-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald on the other side of the ball, the Rams did not look like a team suffering from a Super Bowl loss hangover last week as they dominated the Saints, 27-9, in a rematch of last year's NFC championship game. The Philadelphia Phillies (79-74) dealt the Cleveland Indians a serious blow in their effort to make a fourth-straight playoff appearance when Bryce Harper and the Philly offense powered them to a 9-4 victory last night. The loss dropped Cleveland (91-64) a game back of Tampa Bay for the final wild-card spot in the AL. Terry Francona's team will try to bounce back tonight at Progressive Field as they wrap up their interleague series. Adam Plutko (7-4, 4.34) will take the mound for Cleveland, while the Phillies will go with Vince Velasquez (7-7, 4.89). To get Dunkel's pick for this game and the full MLB schedule, click HERE.
The WNBA semifinals resume this evening with the Las Vegas Aces and LA Sparks both trying to avoid elimination in their best-of-five series against the Washington Mystics and Connecticut Sun, respectively. To get Dunkel's picks for these games, click HERE.
