Week 2 of the NFL schedule is highlighted by a rematch of last year's NFC championship when the New Orleans Saints travel to LA to take on the Rams this afternoon. LA advanced to the Super Bowl after last year's 26-23 win in the Superdome, but it was not without controversy as a non-call on pass interference late in the game left many Saints fans feeling the title was unjustly taken from them. No doubt this game has been circled since the beginning of the off-season. Both teams come in following narrow victories in their openers as the Rams defeated the Carolina Panthers on the road, 30-27, while the Saints held off the Houston Texans at home, 30-28, on a Wil Lutz 58-yard FG as time expired. Last night's Dodgers-Mets game was a classic pennant-fueled contest where pitching dominated and timely hitting prevailed when Rajai Davis broke a scoreless tie with a three-run pinch-hit double in the eighth inning to give New York a 3-0 victory. The win kept the Mets within three games of the Cubs for the final wild-card spot in the NL, while the Dodgers are preparing for the postseason after clinching the NL West Division title on Tuesday. These two teams will wrap up their set tonight at Citi Field with Walker Buehler (13-3, 3.14) taking the mound for LA, while Zack Wheeler (11-7, 4.21) gets the call for New York.
