Just when it looked like the Philadelphia Phillies (71-65) were about to fade out of the NL playoff picture, they've won two straight to move within 2 1/2 games of the Cubs for the final wild-card spot. Last night, Rhys Hoskins homered twice and Scott Kingery and Bryce Harper each added two-run blasts to power the Phils to a 7-1 win in the series opener against the Reds (64-74). Those two teams will be back on the field tonight at Great American Ballpark with Vince Velasquez (6-7, 4.86) taking the mound for Philadelphia against Cincinnati's Lucas Sims (2-1, 4.99). The last week of the WNBA regular-season starts tonight with plenty still up in the air as far as playoff seedings. One of the teams hoping for a first-round by is the Los Angeles Sparks (19-12), who take the court tonight against the Atlanta Dream (7-24), which is out of playoff contention after suffering their worst season since their first year in the league back in 2008. And Dunkel's first week of college football rankings are up with no surprise as Clemson and North Dakota State lead the FBS and FCS divisions, respectively. Clemson overcame a subpar performance from QB Trevor Lawrence to steamroll Georgia Tech, 52-14, while North Dakota State had no trouble taking care of Butler, 47-10.
