The Buffalo Bills are hoping to improve on last year's 6-10 record and much of that will depend on the development of second-year QB Josh Allen. Allen had enough bright moments, especially late in the season, to give Buffalo fans optimism heading into this season. A solid performance in Week 1 of the preseason (6-of-11 for 66 yards) during a 24-16 win over the Colts did nothing to dampen that enthusiasm. Tonight, Allen and the Bills (1-0) will try to carry that momentum into Bank of America Stadium as they hit the road to face the Carolina Panthers (1-0), who opened the preseason with a 23-13 win over Chicago. It looks to be a future playoff matchup in MLB tonight as the NL West-leading LA Dodgers (81-42) meet the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves (72-51) in SunTrust Park. Winners of nine of their last 11, the Dodgers had an uncharacteristic stumble yesterday in Miami as they fell to the Marlins, 13-7. Likewise, the Braves closed out their series with the Mets on the wrong end of a 10-8 score. With both teams looking to bounce back, the Dodgers will go with Kenta Maeda (8-8, 4.12) on the mound against the Braves' Mike Soroka (10-2, 2.32). The WNBA has a full slate with five games on the court tonight, including the Connecticut Sun (17-8) returning home from a 2-2 road trip to face the Seattle Storm (14-12), who are coming off an 88-59 defeat at Washington on Wednesday. Week 10 of the CFL regular season continues with the Edmonton Eskimos (5-3) heading to Toronto to face the Argonauts (1-6).
