The first two games of the St. Louis-Chicago Cubs series has looked a lot like a playoff matchup with runs coming at a premium. The Cards (57-50) took game 1, 2-1, on a late Paul Goldschmidt HR and the Cubs (57-50) rebounded last night to take game 2, 2-0, behind strong pitching from Kyle Hendricks and the bullpen. The net result is both teams are once again tied for first in the NL Central with the rubber game of the series set for tonight at Busch Stadium. Cubs ace Jon Lester (9-6, 3.63) will get the start for Chicago, while the Cardinals will counter with Jack Flaherty (4-6, 4.17). And in the WNBA, the Connecticut Sun (14-6) are riding a five-game winning streak and lead the Washington Mystics by a half-game in the Eastern Conference.
