The NY Mets (49-55) have been sending mixed signals about whether they will be buyers or sellers at the upcoming trade deadline. But that hasn't stopped the team from putting together a pretty decent second half as the Mets are 9-5 since the All-Star break and still somewhat alive in the NL Wild Card chase. Their opponent today -- the Pittsburgh Pirates (46-58) -- are heading in the opposite direction after falling to 2-13 since the break following yesterday's 3-0 loss to the Mets. Jason Vargas (5-5, 3.96) will get the start for New York in the series finale, while Pittsburgh will counter with Chris Archer (3-7, 5.40).
