The Yankees and Twins open up a battle of division leaders tonight at Target Field. AL East-leading New York (64-34) is looking to rebound from yesterday's 8-4 loss to Colorado, while AL Central-leading Minnesota (60-38) rallied to beat Oakland in the bottom of the ninth, 7-6, and salvaged a series split. Yankees starter CC Sabathia (5-4, 4.06) is 12-1 in his last 16 starts versus the Twins and will face Martin Perez (8-3, 4.10) on the mound.
