St. Louis' excitement over having its first Stanley Cup game in 49 years quickly turned into disappointment as the Boston Bruins routed the Blues, 7-2, on Saturday night. Boston's victory, which included an impressive 4-for-4 on the power play, put the Bruins up 2-1 in the series. The Seattle Mariners' excitement over winning 13 of its first 15 games has also soured. Since that time, the M's have gone 12-35 to fall into last place in the AL West and have already started a fire sale by sending slugger Jay Bruce to the Phillies yesterday. It doesn't get easier for Seattle (25-37) tonight as they host the first-place Houston Astros (40-20) at T-Mobile Park. Houston will go with rookie Corbin Martin (1-1, 5.51) on the mound, while Seattle sends out veteran Wade LeBlanc (2-2, 6.99). And the NBA Finals got a little tighter last night as the Golden State Warriors used an 18-0 run at the start of the third period to get past the Toronto Raptors, 109-104.
